A trip north of the border always feels like a homecoming for Jonas Valanciunas.
“I’m driving throughout the city and I know all the streets,” says the popular 30-year-old centre who spent almost seven seasons with the Raptors and returns to Scotiabank Arena on Thursday night.
“You know, I’m familiar with everything in Toronto. Six and half years is a long time in your life. It still gives me chills every time I come here.”
The game marks the first time Valanciunas will play in front of fans in Toronto since he was traded to Memphis for Marc Gasol in February 2019.
