After he threw the first grenade in what could be an explosive Raptors summer, Masai Ujiri made it clear that more moves are in the offing.
“You have to shock, you have to hit. There has to be some kind of friction,” Ujiri said of the path to restoring some juice and enthusiasm and success to the Raptors.
The first shock was Friday’s dismissal of coach Nick Nurse after five seasons on the job. And while that sent a clear message about Ujiri’s disenchantment with where his franchise is, it also puts the team’s vice-chair and president under pressure he’s not been familiar with in years.
