The Raptors’ slide hits five in Chicago — but help is on the way

There may be help coming for the Raptors, and they have never needed it more.

With a group of backups proving unable to hold their own or come up with above-average performances that will allow a decimated roster to steal a game here or there, Toronto’s free fall through the NBA’s Eastern Conference continues.

A 118-95 loss in Chicago on Sunday was the Raptors’ fifth in a row and seventh in the last eight games, dropping them into 11th place in the conference standings.

Norm Powell had 32 points and Kyle Lowry, who was ejected with about 2 1/2 minutes left when he picked up a second technical foul, added 20.
