The Raptors run out of gas in Chicago

A rare flat performance, and a disappointing one, kept the Raptors from making up some big ground in the NBA Eastern Conference playoff race.

Playing with little pace, turning the ball over as they seldom do and creating scant few opportunities for transition baskets, the Raptors dropped a 113-99 decision to the Chicago Bulls on Monday. It was almost like you could see the gas draining from the tank in the third quarter, when the Raptors went more than five minutes without a basket as the Bulls pulled away.

“We just weren’t ourselves defensively at all tonight,” Raptors coach Nick Nurse said.
