We used to know who the Toronto Raptors were. They always had a chance to be something different, because every year is a new chance. And of course, every year the Toronto Raptors would turn out to be the same guys, give or take a grinding trip to the conference final. Every year, the question was whether you could really trust the Raptors, and the eventual answer was always no.
This edition, though, involves asking a different question entirely. Scouts will tell you the Raptors are the most versatile team in basketball, able to match up with more or less anybody, a chameleonic amoeba creature.
