The Raptors are unquestionably a top-heavy team with a handful of very good players who need some kind of support every night to pile up victories.
Some nights they find it and get the spark that makes a difference in energy and production, and eases some of the pressure from the core four of Fred VanVleet, Pascal Siakam, OG Anunoby and the rookie Scottie Barnes.
Some nights those four are enough and their talent wins out, because they all play well and share the ball, defend together and it gets them by.
And then there are nights like Friday, when the supporting cast just doesn’t have it, the team’s top players aren’t at their very best and they have no chance at winning.
