It’s going to be a season of great discovery for the Raptors, who aren’t sure themselves of what they are.
They are intriguing but unproven. They are long but not big. There are holdovers from a championship team and half a roster that has never played a home game in Toronto.
They might not reach Longfellow’s “Little Girl” extremes — “when she was good, she was very good indeed; but when she was bad she was horrid” — but to suggest anyone knows what the team will become is folly.
It’s a question and a curiosity and the unknown.
