The Raptors have a tough road ahead after a long night in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE Fred VanVleet had turnovers on the first two Raptors possessions of the game, and that should have been a sign that things were not going to go very well here Friday night.

And when Toronto committed as many turnovers as baskets in the first quarter, it should have been even more apparent.

When Charlotte’s Mason Plumlee weaved through the defence and spun through traffic to throw down a third-quarter dunk, it was official.

This was not the Raptors’ night.

In a brutal game after an eight-day all-star break, the Raptors were buried 125-93 by the Charlotte Hornets at the Spectrum Center, one of Toronto’s worst overall performances of the season.
