HOUSTON—If the NBA trade deadline is less than a week away, then Fred VanVleet knows his phone is going to be busy.
It’s not so much that VanVleet seems to be particularly keen on tracking the latest from the NBA’s social-media rumour mill.
“I’m not keeping up with all that,” VanVleet said. “I’ve learned that throughout seven years (in the NBA).”
Still, it’s a simple fact that VanVleet is in a contract year, which has put him on the list of the handful of players who could possibly be moved by the Raptors before Thursday’s deadline.
