The Raptors dig themselves a hole — a really deep hole — they can’t get out of against the Trail Blazers

Maybe it’s best to not even try to figure out the Raptors. Just sit back and enjoy the ride, as bumpy and exhilarating and all over the map as it may be.

Because to dissect them would drive one bonkers, with them being so good on some nights and not so good on others; brutal for a half and then great for another. Up, down, all around. Fun and confounding and exhausting.

Just sports, really.

After four games of delightful intensity and at times inspired play, four games that were wildly entertaining and in doubt until the final seconds, the Raptors dropped a stink bomb in an empty Scotiabank Arena on Sunday but even then they tried to clean up the stench with a stirring late-game run.
