Marc Gasol is tall, but he’s always been tall. He wasn’t always bearded, though, and he used to have hair that swept by his ears, like an old-fashioned rock star. He was chubby once, too. He’s older now, leaner, with a buzz cut and a wife who works in Memphis despite his salary, and 2- and 4-year old children that he will bring to Toronto now that he is a Raptor. They aren’t in school, just daycare. “Still portable,” he says, smiling. “Carry-ons.”
The Marc Gasol that has come to Toronto just turned 34, and arrives lugging an encyclopedia of basketball smarts.
