At some stage there will be a statue of Kyle Lowry outside the arena in Toronto. Maybe it will be him with the ball after they won the title, because he always finds the ball in those big moments. Maybe it will be him taking a charge, falling backward, knowing he will get up, maybe with an inscription like his quote from last night, after he took a crushing knee in a very private area: “I mean, obviously, I got balls of steel.”
Whatever it is, it will be a piece of how he is remembered here. And every day, that becomes both clearer, and less clear.
