MIAMI As practice wound down at the Overtown Optimist Club, after countless drills and teaching moments and meticulous movements were taken care of, three wise men stood at centre court and compared notes.
Head coach Nick Nurse, guard Fred VanVleet and assistant coach Nate Bjorkgren, three of the wise men charged with turning the Raptors’ practice and potential into victories, were chatting about what they had just seen, what tweaks might be needed, what works and what doesn’t.
It was, as VanVleet said half an hour or so later, a “meeting of the minds” coming from disparate viewpoints.
