Toronto Raptors fans like nothing more than to root for an underdog, to appreciate an unheralded player who possesses a solid work ethic, some basketball promise and an “I’ll show them” mentality.
It’s early, but it looks like Terence Davis is going to fill that role this season.
The undrafted rookie, fighting for a spot in the rotation, was among the most pleasant surprises early Tuesday morning as Toronto posted a come-from-behind 134-129 victory over the Houston Rockets.
It wasn’t Davis’ stats — eight points, five assists in about 11 minutes — that stood out, nor was it an impressive dunk he threw down in the second half.
