After the best rebounding game of his career, Precious Achiuwa arrived back in the Raptors locker room and checked his phone for the flood of messages and texts that generally follow such an impressive performance.
He was not disappointed.
“I’ve been getting texts from all my friends,” Achiuwa said in the wake of Toronto’s 98-90 win over the Miami Heat on Monday.
“Some of them sober, a lot of them drunk.”
The sobriety of his pals notwithstanding, there was much to celebrate over Achiuwa’s 22-rebound, 10-point explosion at the FTX Arena as the Raptors evened their season record at 2-2.
