The Raptors’ starting lineup has been pretty predictable so far this season. With Fred VanVleet nearing a return, that might be about to change.
Toronto head coach Nick Nurse is openly contemplating making some adjustments to his starting five with VanVleet expected back later this week from a bruised right knee. It’s unlikely to happen Wednesday at Detroit with VanVleet listed as doubtful, but modifications could be coming as soon as Friday vs. Washington.
Nurse isn’t thinking about switching things up because of performance. Toronto is doing just fine with an 18-8 record after consecutive wins. Instead, the desire to tinker has more to do with a view from 30,000 feet.
