The Toronto Raptors celebrated their 20th anniversary season in 2014-2015. During that time, they have selected 11 second-rounders in the NBA Draft. Those choices have been terrible, and I’m baffled as to why. Almost every team in the league has lucked out with a second-rounder or two, so why haven’t the Raps?
Our choices have been such luminaries as DeeAndre Hulett (2000), Remon Van De Hare (2003), Roko Ukic (2005 – at least he made the team, briefly), and more recently P.J. Tucker (2006) and Quincy Acy (2012). These last two are still in the NBA; Tucker is the starting small forward in Phoenix after years overseas.
