Scarborough Shooting Stars add former Raptors guard Jalen Harris to roster

The Scarborough Shooting Stars, an expansion team that has yet to play its first game in the Canadian Elite Basketball League, is announcing its presence with authority.

The organization announced Tuesday it has signed former Raptors second-round draft pick Jalen Harris to a contract. He could make his debut when the Shooting Stars open their 2022 CEBL season Thursday in Guelph.

Harris, the 59th pick in the 2020 NBA draft, is currently serving out the final six weeks of a year-long suspension for violating terms of the NBA-NBPA anti-drug program. He is eligible for re-instatement to the NBA on July 1 and figures heavily into the Raptors Summer League program.
