Raptors fans looking forward to a rematch between the team’s mascot and Phoenix Suns all-star Devin Booker may have to wait until next season.
Booker, one of the league’s top scorers, played only four minutes in the Suns’ Christmas Day matchup with the Denver Nuggets before being sidelined with a groin injury. The team announced Tuesday that the 26-year-old had returned to Phoenix for further evaluation. Booker scored a season-high 58 points vs. New Orleans, before missing three games before Christmas with the same injury.
The rising superstar didn’t play against the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday, and it’s not clear whether he will rejoin the team for their only Canadian trip of the season, Friday in Toronto.
