Heady times, indeed, for the Toronto Raptors, a group brimming with confidence, clicking on offence and strung together on defence, a team verging on making franchise history.
Now winners of nine in a row thanks to a 106-89 victory over the Washington Wizards on Tuesday night at the Air Canada Centre, they can make history by stretching it to 10 on Thursday night.
The streak has solidified Toronto in second place in the Eastern Conference, just two games behind the conference-leading Cleveland Cavaliers. It is only the second nine-game streak in franchise history, the other coming in 2002.
