Fans can sometimes be as important as some of the biggest stars in sports. They often giving their favourite teams a home-court advantage, a sorely missed part of the games played over the past year in empty arenas.
“I think fans are a big part of the game itself,” Raptors Superfan Nav Bhatia told the Star in an interview Tuesday. “The team wins the championship, but it’s the fan who motivate and excite them when they cheer them on.”
In recognition of their importance, the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass., unveiled its newly built Superfan Gallery over the weekend.
