When the 2017 NBA Draft arrives in June, the Toronto Raptors should consider drafting Rodions Kurucs. Kurucs is a Latvian small forward playing for Spanish team Barcelona B in the second division of Spanish basketball.
Kurucs turned pro just weeks after his 16th birthday. The 6’9″ forward joined Latavian team BK VEF Riga. After two seasons with Riga, Kurucs signed with Spanish powerhouse Barcelona, who assigned him to their second division B team.
Kurucs is good ball handler who is fearless when he attacks the basket. The Latvian is unafraid of contact at the rim and is able to finish when he is hit.
