Ten years after Andrea Bargnani was drafted, didn’t pan out and was dealt, Toronto Raptors fans can almost finally thank him.
The Raptors will have a high pick in the first-round of this year’s draft. How that comes about, and how it ties to Bargnani, can be as confusing and frustrating to figure out as the seven-footer himself was in his seven seasons in Toronto.
When Bargnani was dealt to the New York Knicks in 2013, the Raptors got New York’s first-round pick in 2016. However, when the Knicks traded for Carmelo Anthony in 2011, they traded the right to swap first-round picks in 2016 with the Denver Nuggets.
