Every season I publish my win-loss forecast for all NBA teams, including a thumbnail analysis. For the Toronto Raptors, I write a separate, lengthy prognostication in which I explain how I arrived at whatever my forecast is. The Raps’ season is in the books at 49-33, and I had called for 50-32. [20-second timeout: One thing I’ve learned about teams in any sport which improve drastically in one season: Don’t expect the same degree of improvement in the next; team management and fans should be satisfied with a consolidation season. The Raps won 34 games 2 years ago, and 48 last.
