The decision to move Gary Trent Jr. to the bench — and it should be a permanent move barring an injury to another Raptors starter — will have implications that become apparent well after the final 20 games of this season unfold.
But going by what some high-ranking team officials have thought for months, those are implications the team is quite willing to deal with, however it all shakes out.
