NBA pre-season games are held primarily so teams can find out what they need to work on in practice, and the Raptors have plenty of fodder for the next couple of days.
Rookie Malachi Flynn had his second strong game, but there were enough “teaching points” for coach Nick Nurse to harp on once practice resumes following Toronto’s 112-109 win over the Charlotte Hornets on Monday night.
A so-so start and a raft of turnovers will need to be cleaned up before their regular season starts on Dec. 23 against New Orleans, but the Raptors did win and that’s far better than the alternative.
