The Raptors enter the final couple of days before the NBA trade deadline in a decided position of strength, a unique spot for a team with a solid, young core and the ability to add something of substance without really giving anything up.
It is a great spot for general manager Bobby Webster to be in and league sources continue to expect Toronto to make some significant move before Thursday afternoon’s 3 p.m. ET deadline.
The driving force is, of course, the expiring contract worth about $19 million (U.S.) of point guard Goran Dragic, which is the kind of asset Webster said yesterday “greases deals in the NBA, which is the name of the game this week.
