Nick Nurse’s impact on basketball in Canada will grow this summer.
The Raptors head coach, who has his team in the NBA final after one year at the helm, is poised to become the next head coach of Canada’s senior men’s team.
NBA sources confirmed reports from RDS and The Canadian Press on Sunday that the 51-year-old Nurse will eventually be named as the successor to Jay Triano as Canada’s head coach.
There was no on-the-record confirmation on Sunday nor will any come before Toronto’s season ends after the championship series that begins at the Scotiabank Centre on Thursday.
