Masai Ujiri will join high-level executives from every NBA team in gorgeous Treviso, Italy, this weekend, taking in a camp for promising 2017 European prospects. It is a wonderful busman’s holiday and a chance to escape the grind of preparing for this year’s NBA draft.
But, first, there is work to do.
Before landing in Italy, and with more on his mind than which European teenager deserves to be followed closely next winter, Ujiri is making stops in Serbia and Istanbul to check out lottery prospects for this year’s draft.
It’s all part of an accelerated process for the Raptors president and general manager, who must decide what to do with the ninth and 27th selections in the June 23 draft.
