The Raptors have staked part of their future on Florida State forward Scottie Barnes.
Passing up an opportunity to take Gonzaga guard Jalen Suggs, Toronto took the six-foot-nine Barnes with the No. 4 selection in Thursday night’s NBA draft.
Considered one of the most versatile defenders available, Barnes should give Toronto a dominant forward duo along with OG Anunoby.
Toronto made its highest draft pick since choosing Andrea Bargnani first overall in 2006.
