There is a great responsibility that Adrian Griffin feels to himself, the men he’s suddenly in charge of and the people who bestowed that responsibility upon him.
It could be almost overwhelming but the Raptors assistant coach has been grooming himself for years for these moments.
In the absence of Raptors head coach Nick Nurse — who has been away from the team for days dealing with a family issue — Griffin has become the man in charge.
The voice. The leader. It’s not a role to be taken lightly.
“You guys know me as assistant coach Adrian Griffin but right now, it’s about being professional, doing our job at the highest level,” said Griffin, who helped guide the Raptors to a 119-118 win over the Detroit Pistons on Sunday.
