Jerry Stackhouse is the D-League coach of the year.

It’s hard to imagine having a better first year on the job than Jerry Stackhouse did.

The 42-year-old former NBA all-star was named the D-League’s coach of the year on Wednesday after guiding the Raptors905 to one of the greatest seasons in league history.

An assistant last year on Dwane Casey’s staff with the Toronto Raptors, Stackhouse took over the D-League head coaching job and had nothing but success, leading the 905 to the best record in the league, 39-11, and an all-time best road record of 21-4.
