The Raptors 905 acquired the rights to Brampton native Sim Bhullar in a trade Friday afternoon, sending him to the Reno Bighorns in exchange for the rights to guard Ricky Ledo.
Bhullar, who stands seven-foot-five, split last season between the Sacramento Kings and their Reno farm team in the NBA D-league. He played three minutes for the Kings in the NBA.
Last season, the centre averaged 10.3 points, 8.8 rebounds and 3.9 blocks in 39 games with Reno. The 22-year-old is the first NBA player of Indian descent.
Bhullar also was on the roster of Team Canada’s silver-medal winning team at the Pan Am Games.
