Jesse Mermuys expected long hours when he accepted the head coaching position with Raptors 905. What surprised him was the unfamiliar urge to put pen to paper and record his journey.
“It’s a whirlwind,” Mermuys said. “I’m just taking in daily. I’ve never been a journal guy but I've actually had a few things I’ve written down so that could look back on this later on and see some of the processes.”
Mermuys’ Raptors 905 squad had their inaugural home opener against the Maine Red Claws on Thursday night. After leading throughout the first half by as many as 14 points, a rough third quarter left the 905 clawing back in the fourth before falling short as they dropped a 109-105 decision to the Red Claws.
