With the Toronto Raptors guaranteed the Eastern Conference’s #1 seed, and the Detroit Pistons eliminated from the playoffs, there was no motivation for either team other than professional pride. Thus the game featured some highly unlikely combinations.
The Raptors would enjoy seeing their G League affiliate repeat as champions, so two of those fellows saw significant minutes. Combo guard Lorenzo Brown played 25 minutes, scored 11 points, and didn’t look out of place. Alfonzo McKinnie scored on a putback. Malcolm Miller wasn’t called upon, but surely will be tomorrow night in Mississauga. All three youngsters were headed to the Toronto suburb in a limousine after the buzzer.
