The pre-game lament from Nick Nurse was about the shaky rhythm to the Raptors’ offence in this young NBA season. And he was right, there have been many stretches of so-so play in the first five games of the year.
But when it works it can be pretty, and pretty effective, and there were stretches Wednesday night against the Detroit Pistons when it was beautiful to watch.
Coupled with what has become commonplace — an excellent defensive outing — the Raptors lit up the Pistons for 37 third-quarter points, shot 59.3 from the floor overall and rolled to a 125-113 win at the Scotiabank Arena.
