Though he should be a shoe-in for the NBA’s Most Improved Player award, the Raptors’ Pascal Siakam has also earned consideration for another of the league’s season-long honours. Announced yesterday, Toronto’s new star forward is one of ten players nominated for the NBA Cares Community Assist Award.
As per the description, the award exists to honour “a player’s strong commitment to positively impact his community through sustained efforts over the course of the season.”
The winner will be announced at the 2019 NBA Awards show on Monday, June 24 (on TNT). And, it should be noted, part of the prize is a $25,000 donation to a charity of the player’s choice.
