SAN ANTONIO—As Raptors forward Otto Porter Jr. laced up his sneakers for Wednesday morning’s Raptors shootaround, he was occasionally greeted by congratulatory fist bumps from smiling teammates and coaches.
Porter Jr., the three-point shooting specialist who signed with the Raptors in the offseason, spent most of the past week on leave from the team for personal reasons. On Wednesday he explained the reason: He and his wife recently welcomed a baby girl.
“It’s a big step in my life,” Porter Jr. said. “People can tell you what to expect, but until you go through it, you have no idea.
