The Raptors will have a chance to defend their NBA title as the long-delayed 2019-20 NBA season resumes this summer.
The league’s board of governors on Thursday approved a return-to-play plan for 22 of the 30 NBA teams. It will include eight games as a warmup to determine playoff seeding, the usual four rounds of playoffs and will begin in late July at the Disney-ESPN complex in Orlando.
There are still details to be finalized, chief among them the health protocols that will be in place for the more than 1,000 players, coaches and officials who’ll be essentially sequestered in the Orlando complex for up to three months.
