Raptors coach Nick Nurse was proud of his guys after Tuesday’s loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, a defeat that could have been a whole lot worse if they hadn’t made a game of it after being down by 34 points in the first 20 minutes.
Silly to say after watching the Lakers cruise to victory? Maybe. But Nurse couldn’t fault the effort by the short-handed roster on a second straight night in action.
“They could have folded up the tents and said, ‘Oh, we’ve only got eight guys, we’re on a back-to-back, we’re getting killed,’ ” Nurse said.
