Key Raptors players near return after lengthy absence due to NBA’s health and safety protocols

The Raptors are close to getting some key pieces back.

Pascal Siakam, Patrick McCaw and Malachi Flynn have been upgraded to questionable for their game in Detroit on Wednesday while Fred VanVleet is listed as doubtful.

All four were cleared to practice in Detroit on Tuesday night before the Raptors, who have lost five straight games and fallen to 11th place in the Eastern Conference, played the Pistons on Wednesday.

OG Anunoby, meanwhile, remains out because of the NBA’s health and safety protocols.

Siakam has missed the last six games and the others the last five for the health and safety protocols that follow the league’s guidelines for positive COVID-19 tests or players who have had close contact with people who have returned positive tests.
