This summer, Toronto Raptures GM Masai Ujiri will be tasked with the arduous challenge of taking his team’s roster to the next level. In many cases, the 2014/15 team had all of the boxes of a championship-caliber team checked off, but this summer could involved taking those checks and upgrading them.

For example, Ujiri signed Greg Stiemsma last year to provide shot blocking and defensive toughness. This was an important role to fill on a team that struggled defensively, but Stiemsma wasn’t good enough to earn consistent minutes in head coach Dwane Casey’s system.
