Jamaal Magloire sat in his locker-room stall at the Staples Center and sized up his teammates.
There was a familiar face in point guard Baron Davis. There was a legendary player in Allen Iverson and one of the most enjoyable players to ever watch at an all-star game in Vince Carter.
Tracy McGrady, Jermaine O’Neal and Ben Wallace were there. So were Jason Kidd, Ron Artest (before he was Metta World Peace) and Paul Pierce.
It was the only all-star game that Magloire took part in through his 12 years in the NBA, but the Toronto-born centre, now an assistant coach with the Raptors, will never forget it.
