It was to be a night of celebration and thanks and emotions, and Vince Carter had no idea how he would handle his final game in the city where the longest career in NBA history began.
Carter and the Atlanta Hawks were to be at the Scotiabank Arena to face the Raptors on Friday, the second-last home game of the regular season in Toronto and a night to say farewell to the most electrifying player in franchise history.
“I don’t know what it’s going to be like but I know it’s going to be emotional,” Carter said earlier this season while talking about his final game in Toronto.
