To the pantheon of all-time Raptors performances, add Fred VanVleet’s jaw-dropping display from Friday night.
Putting up one of the single best quarters a Raptor has put up, VanVleet single-handedly lifted his team out of the mud and led it to a 122-108 victory over the eight-man Utah Jazz.
That the Raptors had to work so hard to beat a team missing its top six players became a quite secondary storyline because VanVleet went on an astonishing individual run.
Playing all 12 minutes of the third, VanVleet scored 24 points, did not miss a shot from the field in eight field-goal attempts, went 5-for-5 from the free-throw line and tacked on three assists, three rebounds and two steals while not committing a turnover.
