PORTLAND — In a very short period, Fred VanVleet has become more like himself.
He pulls up in transition and makes a three-pointer.
The ball is swung around to him and he makes a catch-and-shoot three like he’s always done.
He drives and kicks the ball out, relocates himself in the corner or the break in the arc, gets the ball back and, swish, another shot made.
And all of a sudden, the Raptors point guard is more like himself again and a disastrous shooting start to the NBA season seems so very long ago.
