Raptors coach Nick Nurse continued to rake in the accolades on Monday, named coach of the month for January in the NBA’s Eastern Conference.
Now riding an 11-game win streak, the Raptors went 12-3 last month. They also matched the franchise record by scoring 140 points against the Washington Wizards on Jan. 17.
They led the East with a 9-1 road mark in January, when they also topped the conference in three-pointers (12.8) and steals (10) per game.
Nurse pulled the right strings despite the fact that injuries cost Fred VanVleet, Pascal Siakam, Norman Powell, Marc Gasol, Patrick McCaw and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson a combined 26 games in January.
