Australian Boomer David Andersen will join Melbourne United after signing a two-year deal with the NBL club.
Andersen, who will become a four-time Olympian in Rio next month, is one of Australia's most experienced players.
During a decorated career that included one season with the NBL's Wollongong Hawks, Andersen made a name for himself in Europe.
But the 36-year-old was 37th overall pick in the 2002 NBA draft, playing for the Houston Rockets, Toronto Raptors and New Orleans Hornets.
His record includes three Euroleague Championships and three Russian League Championships.
The 213cm power forward has just completed his latest season in Europe, leading French side Asvel Lyon-Villeurbanne to the Pro A Championship and being selected for the 2015 French Pro A League All Star Game in December.
