DETROIT Given a chance to start in a truly competitive NBA game for the first time in his life, Dalano Banton didn’t disappoint.
The 23-year-old guard from Rexdale started for the depleted Raptors on Monday and responded with a career night as the Raptors beat the Pistons 115-111 at Little Ceasars Arena.
The victory snapped a two-game losing streak for the Raptors, who were without three starters and, when Otto Porter Jr. left the game, two key backups.
Banton scored a career-best 27 points, Chris Boucher added a season-high 20 and OG Anunoby dropped 19, and the Raptors got a huge blocked shot by Jeff Dowtin Jr.
