CHICAGO—Changes to the format for Sunday’s NBA all-star game are just fine with Raptors coach Nick Nurse.
In an effort to make it more competitive from start to finish, each quarter will be a separate game with $100,000 (U.S.) to charity on the line for each of the first, second and third quarters. It will be $200,000 in the fourth quarter, with the winning team the one that reaches the predetermined final score first.
“They’re going to give us two timeouts in every quarter, so I think the last few minutes of each quarter we’ll be calling timeout, advancing (the ball), trying to win those quarters,” Nurse said Saturday morning.
